Public Health Practice

The NYU MPH Program recognizes the value of public health practice and offers various pathways for students to apply the skills, knowledge, and theories learned in the classroom to real-world public health challenges.  In addition to the practice-based degree requirements (internship, practicum, and Capstone), the presence of public health practice in the NYU MPH program serves to develop and cultivate working relationships between academia and the organizations and agencies that deliver services, conduct research, and promote health in New York City and across the globe.

To achieve this, the NYU MPH Program offers:

  • Linkages and partnerships with agencies to develop fieldwork & research opportunities
  • Access to domestic and global internships and practicums
  • On-going events and seminars
  • Career workshops
  • Resume-building and cover letter sessions
  • Mock interviews
  • Access to mentors
  • One-on-one practice advising sessions
  • Organizational information sessions
  • Opportunities to liaise with recruiters and practitioners in the field
  • Sessions with experts from around the globe
  • Opportunities for meaningful, hands-on work
  • Internship and career fairs
  • Online job and fieldwork database
